Hey all my Minnesotans! How's the weather?? Bitterly cold did you say..? Wow that must be awful! How's the weather here? Oh you know 85 degrees and sunny everyday! One day it was raining and got to 60 though.. That sucked. So if you could pray for sun everyday that would be much appreciated!
I know what you guys are thinking, this kids got jokes! But anywayyyyyy things here are awesome! Here's a quick update on the past few weeks!!
So a few weeks ago we went to Byron Bay and watched over a bunch of schoolies (which is pretty much a bunch of drunk senior spring breakers..) and what we would do was:
-Pass out these Red Frogs, (which is candy)
-Make sure the kids are safe
-We made them pancakes for free in the morning
-And walk them home if they got too drunk
It was a very interesting week! We got assigned in groups of 4 and in each group there was a guy and a leader! We had a really random group and none of us talked much before the week but we all got along tremendously and made quite an impact on the week! Our group was one of the more energetic and fun of the groups, so there was never a dull moment!
This week was honestly the turning point to my DTS because I realized what was blocking my relationship with God so much and it's the fact that I had the wrong perspective on life. I thought that if things didn't go the way as I saw them then life sucks. Which is an awful outlook on life, especially when you're life is based on an unpredictable God. So god really gave me a wake up call to always complaining about the littlest things that didn't go my way and through that God's done so much more through me!
We can look at all the little negative things that are going on in our lives and always live with a cloud above our heads... OR we can look at all the little positive things that are going on and be the light in this cloudy world!
I don't think we realize how much effect we have on the people around us... If you're not building people up and helping them strive to be the best person they can be and live up to their potential then you shouldn't be in their lives. I know it sounds brutal, but God didn't create mankind to just sit and destroy each other's confidence... He created us to love each other unconditionally and to sharpen each other! That's what's been on my heart the past few weeks!
We also did a 24 hour worship, which is where you worship for 24 hours straight! (Pretty self explanatory) And that's when God revealed everything he's been doing in my life the past 2 months! It was mind blowing!
Lastly, I truly appreciate all the support you guys are giving me back home and even here! I would not have been able to get where I am today without all you! So if you're reading this I love you a great amount, and If you ever have any questions.. PLEASE MESSAGE ME! I'd love to talk about it! Now I shall leave you with this verse!!!
